Our goal is to give you an exciting adventure you will never forget. We want to make sure you really enjoy the incredible humpback whale watching (available from June to October) and amazing marine life sightings off the coast of Puerto López and Machalilla National Park.
Each small-group adventure carries no more than 16 guests on Palo Santo Boats, a 12 meters fiberglass yachts with two 150 Hp ecological outboard motors. This tour included transfer Montañita - Puerto Lopez - Montañita; Tourism Boat from Puerto Lopez; Encounter with marine turtles; Trekking in Isla de la Plata; Snorkeling on the reef corals in Isla and Whale Watching (only available from June to October).
La Isla de La Plata is also known as small Galápagos because it has the same ecosystem and animals living on the Island. In pre-Columbian times the sun and the sea were a ceremonial center of worship for the Incas. Later, the Plata Island was visited by buccaneers and pirates. Finally, it belonged to one of the most famous families in Ecuador to be part of the Machalilla National Park, Isla la Plata is the second protected area of Ecuador.
From June until October humpback whales travel more than 7,000 km from Antarctica to the shores of Machalilla National Park in Ecuador. La Isla de La Plata is considered a breeding area for different species of whales and dolphins. It is also a place where they unite together. Only in these few month you can enjoy acrobatic shows from these wonderful animals.

Meet with us in Palo Santo Travel Agency
09:15 Departure from the agency to the dock to board the boat. Meet your guide at Palo Santo Office. Our office is in the north Malecon (Malecon and Abdon Calderon), beside Itapoa Hotel, in front of the navy office.
10:50 Arrival at Isla de la Plata and we can see marine turtles marine. We have a snack.
11:20 Hike for observing marine birds and landscapes of the Plata island.
14:15 Box Lunch (fruits and sandwichs)
14:40 Snorkeling for observation of many fish species and the coral reef in La Plata Island.
15:30 Whale watching in the marine are of Machalilla National Park (June to October)
16:00 - 17:00 Arrive in Puerto López. Approx. Hour. Depends on the behavior of the whales.
17:15 Transfer to Puerto López to Montañita
IS IT SAFE?
Yes, it is safe.
Our boat is also equipped with life-jackets for every single person on board, and all our crew members have been trained and certified to assure your safety and the safety of the animals.
MAXIMUM CAPACITY:
We have three tour boats from 31 to 41 feet in length with two outboards engines, GPS, radio, comfortable seats, safe jackets, bathroom and everything necessary for you to be comfortable on the trip. Although, the boats have a capacity of 30 passengers, in obedience to the regulations of Machalilla National Park, we travel every day with 16 passengers. Our main research boat seats up to 16 passengers each.

Families, single, couple of all age with love for nature, adventure, and life. Please, ask us if somebody of your family can not trekking, they could enjoy the beaches of La Plata Island while waiting for you.

Marine Animas, Birds, and Humpback whales are not aggressive, and even though sometimes they might get close to the vessel (since they are curious animals), they will not hurt us in any way.
