June – October
Experience the migration of humpback whales from Antarctica. During these months, whale watching is one of the highlights of the tour, with frequent sightings of breaching whales, mothers with calves and playful behaviors.
November – May
Whales are usually not present, but dolphins are frequently seen during the navigation, together with sea turtles and abundant marine birds.

09:00 – Check in at Palo Santo Travel Office (Malecón Julio Izurieta & Abdón Calderón, Puerto López).
09:15 – Walk to the pier and board the boat. Safety briefing before departure.
Boat navigation – During June to October, enjoy humpback whale watching while sailing to Isla de la Plata. From November to May, dolphins and sea turtles are frequently seen.
Arrival at Isla de la Plata – Guided hike through Machalilla National Park to observe Blue-footed Boobies, Frigatebirds, Albatrosses (seasonal) and spectacular coastal landscapes.
Lunch – Box lunch on the island.
Snorkeling – Explore coral reefs with colorful tropical fish and other marine life.
Return navigation – Another opportunity to observe whales (June–October), dolphins, sea turtles and seabirds.
Approximately 4:00 - 5:00 PM – Arrival in Puerto López.
