Enjoy the most magical moment to observe humpback whales in Ecuador: when mothers teach their newborns to breathe, jump, and survive in the Ecuadorian Pacific waters or during their impressive mating rituals with competitive males.
This special early morning tour in Puerto López offers an extraordinary opportunity that very few visitors experience: observing the tender interaction between mother whales and their calves in the calm morning waters of the Manabí coast. We are accompanied by certified researchers who monitor mothers that have given birth near Puerto López. Each whale can be identified by its tail fluke, unique like a human fingerprint. We maintain a catalog of more than 200 mothers who have given birth in these waters, and we are tracking their fidelity to Machalilla National Park.
When we return, we will enjoy a fresh fish ceviche in front of the sea in a local place.
